FAQs

customer service 101

I had my heart set on some stickers, but now they’re all sold out. Will you be re-stocking?

✞ Maybe? For our Special Collections, our first print run is strictly limited to 100. If we sell out, there’s no guarantee that we will re-stock.

✞ But if there’s enough interest in the Special Collection to warrant it, we are totally down with giving the sticker fans what they want.

✞ The best way to let us know that you’re obsessed with a sold-out design is to sign up for the waitlist. The waitlist sign-up is displayed on every product page, just insert your email address.

✞ If re-stocks do happen, folks on the waitlist will get automatically notified over email. This means you can snap up your heart’s sticker desire, before it sells out again!

✞ Note, though, that we’ll only re-stock during the Special Collection’s loan period with us, i.e. the length of time the Collection is made available for sale on the website. This is typically 3 months.

✞ For the Permanent Collection, re-stocks happen on an ongoing basis. So add yourself to the waitlist, and you’ll get notified as soon as we get another shipment.

I’m not happy with my order. Can I get a refund?

✞ We’re sorry you’re not happy with your order. That sucks. Our mission at Sticker Church HQ is to spread queer joy and delight every single customer. We’re committed to offering supreme customer service, and rectifying any issues as soon as humanly possible.

✞ Please write to us outlining the situation and we will do everything we can to make it right, including offering a refund* if that’s your preference.

* Let’s be clear, though: if you’re unhappy because your order contains trans-, queer- and/or crip-affirming designs, then that’s a you problem, not an us problem. No refunds for hate.

You used to have these kick-ass designs on the website, but now they’re gone, ARGH. Where did they go? Can I buy them?

✞ The Sticker Church calendar is organized like a high-end fashion house, natch. Designs are available for specific seasons, like Autumn/Winter, Spring/Summer, you get the picture.

✞ Our Special Collections are on loan to us from the queer archive for a set period of time, or season, typically 3 months. After that, they will disappear from the Sticker Church website, likely never to be seen again. Any re-stocks that might happen occur only during this loan period.

✞ You’ll find out the season and loan period for every item in our store at the bottom of every product page in the shop.

✞ That being said, designs from Special Collections might in theory pop up in later sales we run, or be available for purchase in our offline stockists for a longer time period.

✞ Every now and then, we refresh our Permanent Collection too, retiring pieces and adding new stuff. Typically, retired designs from this Collection get stuffed down the memory hole, never to be seen again.

✞ If you’re desperate to get your hands on a design from a Special Collection beyond its loan period, or one that’s been retired from the Permanent Collection, we can’t make any promises, but we may be able to ransack our in-house archives and find a few stragglers. Drop us a note, and we can look into it.

shipping

Do you ship to my country?

✞ We are enthusiastic about international shipping. We love the thought of our pretties flying free, across the globe. In short, yep we probably do ship to your country, and with a smile on our faces to boot!

World map in holographic colours

✞ That being said, our postal carrier, Royal Mail, prohibits shipments to certain countries and regions. This means that at the present time, we cannot ship to: the Cook Islands, Kiribati, Libya, Mayotte, Netherlands – St Eustatius, Niue, Somalia, Spain – Ceuta, Spain – Mellilla, Tokelau, Ukraine’s Crimea and Sevastopol regions, Venezuela, or Yemen. Hopefully, this will change in future.

How much does shipping cost?

✞ For shipping within the UK (including Guernsey and Jersey), we charge a flat fee of £2.50 per order, no matter how many items you are purchasing. Go wild!

✞ For shipping to Europe*, we charge a flat fee of £3.50 plus 5p for every additional item in the order. So, if you were ordering, say 3 items in total, you would be charged: £3.50 + (2 x 5p) = £3.60.

 * For the avoidance of doubt, Europe here includes the following countries and regions: Albania, Andorra, Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Azores, Balearic Islands, Belarus, Belgium, Bosnia Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czechia, Denmark, Estonia, Faroe Islands, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Greenland, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Malta, Moldova, Monaco, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, San Marino, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine (excluding Crimea and Sevastopol regions), Uzbekistan, and Vatican City State.

✞ For shipping to the US and the rest of the world*, we charge a flat fee of £3.50, plus 10p for every additional item in the order. So, if you were ordering, say 3 items in total, you would be charged: £3.50 + (2 x 10p) = £3.70.

*We regret that, at the present time, we cannot ship to: The Cook Islands, Kiribati, Libya, Mayotte, Netherlands – St Eustatius, Niue, Somalia, Spain – Ceuta, Spain – Mellilla, Tokelau, Ukraine’s Crimea and Sevastopol regions, Venezuela, or Yemen. This is because our postal carrier, Royal Mail, prohibits shipments to certain countries and regions.

How long will it take for my order to reach me?

✞ We aim to ship all items within two working days of receiving an order.

✞ We ship all items in the UK (including Guernsey and Jersey) using First Class post, with Royal Mail aiming to making delivery in 1 working day.

✞ We ship to all other countries by International Standard mail. With this service, Royal Mail aim to deliver to Europe in 3-5 working days, and the rest of the world in 6-7 working days.

✞ Royal Mail are pretty damn reliable, and  they usually make good on their ETAs. But the post can be weird in these post-Brexit, mid-pandemic times. Please be patient and extend our postal carriers, and us here at Sticker Church, a bit of grace if there’s a small delay in your order reaching you. We did not vote for Brexit, and we sure did not vote for a pandemic. That being said, if your shipment still hasn’t arrived after a couple of days, get in touch with us, and we can arrange for a replacement to be sent out, stat.

What’s the deal with customs?

✞ We are required to accurately fill out a customs form for all shipments leaving the UK. This means that you could be liable for additional taxes, custom duties, and so on, in your locality. If in doubt, please do your own research before you order from us! Sticker Church cannot accept liability for such charges, alas.

can i track my order?

✞ We always get proof of postage, but do not offer tracking as standard. However, you will get an email notification when we ship your order, so you can calibrate your anticipation accordingly.

✞ If you require tracking on your order or signature on delivery, get in touch and we can sort something out for a small additional fee.

gifting

exactly how “deluxe” is the “deluxe gift wrap + note service”?

Can I add a personalized note to my gift order?

✞ Avail yourself of our Deluxe Gift Wrap + Note Service to add a personalized note to your gift order.

✞ If you’d prefer to check out as standard, alas you cannot add a personalized note to the shipment. However, you can still gift the items in the order to someone, of course.

Is this a gift GIF.gif

✞ Insert the gift recipient’s address as the shipping address at checkout, and make sure to answer “yes” when you’re asked if your order is a gift. This means that the recipient won’t see any prices on the despatch info we include for all standard orders.

How do gift cards work?

✞ Gift cards can be used to pay for purchases and shipping.

✞ Gift cards never expire.

✞ Gift cards are available in GBP only.

✞ We currently offer gift cards in the following denominations: £5, £10, £25, and £50.

✞ You can apply multiple gift cards to an order, no worries.

✞ Gift cards are loners by nature, tho. You can’t buy multiple gift cards in a single order, or buy a gift card with any other items that we sell in a single order.

✞ If you’d like to buy more than one gift card, you’ll need to purchase each of them separately.

✞ If you’d like to buy other stuff too, settle up for the gift card and then place a separate order for the remaining bits and pieces, as normal.

✞ When buying a gift card, you’ll be whisked away to checkout tout suite. Don’t be alarmed!

Can I schedule a gift card to be emailed to someone on a specific date?

✞ Gift cards are dramatic af. This means that they’re emailed out straight away after you buy them. Right now, you can’t schedule delivery to the lucky recipient at a later date. Instead, select the “Email to You” delivery option at checkout, to get the email and .pdf sent to yourself, so you can forward them to the recipient at the right time.

Can I “top up” a gift card with more £££?

✞ You can’t (and we can’t) “top up” a gift card at a later date. If you’d like more gift cash, you’ll need to buy another gift card.

How do discount codes work with gift cards?

✞ If you’ve got a discount code, you can’t apply it to buying a gift card itself. But the discount is valid on the stuff you’re buying with the gift card, for sure.

Can you wrap stuff for me? Like, more than for a single recipient?

✞ Whilst we find wrapping a joy, we know some people find it a real faff - and we’re happy to do the heavy lifting.

✞ If you’d like us to wrap gifts for a bunch of different people and ship them back to you directly, so you can distribute the goods yourself, drop us a note and we can set something up.

Do you offer refunds on gift cards?

✞ If you haven’t used the gift card at all, get in touch for a refund. Alas, we can’t refund partially used gift cards. But we can, of course, refund any purchases made with the gift card. The refunded amount will be returned to the gift card’s balance.

can i check how much £££ is left on a gift card?

✞ The initial balance on the gift card can be found in the email we send out to the recipient, notifying them of their Sticker Church windfall.

✞ If you’re unsure of how much cash is left on the gift card, enter the gift card code at checkout and the remaining balance available (if any) will be displayed.

Help! I’ve lost my gift card code!

✞ Deep breaths! Don’t panic! Get in touch with us and we can resend the email notification with it in.

Can I pay for only part of my order with a gift card?

✞ The full value of the gift card is always applied at check-out. This means that it's not possible to partially redeem a gift card, unless the order total is less than the gift card balance. Buckle up, things are about to get a tad maths-y.

✞ Say you’ve got a gift card balance of £5, and want to buy yourself a sticker set. That’s £7.50 + £2.50 shipping in the UK, so the total for your order is £10. At check-out, the full balance of your gift card will be applied, leaving you with £5 to pay using the standard methods. You can’t, for instance, decide you want to only put a portion of your gift card balance towards the order.

✞ Another day has dawned, you’re armed with a gift card balance of £15, and want to buy yourself another sticker set. That’s £7.50 + £2.50 shipping in the UK, so the total for your order is £10 again. Using your gift card at check-out for this order will leave you with a balance of £5 on the gift card to spend in future.

payment

how do i pay?

✞ At check-out, you can pay with a credit or debit card through Stripe or PayPal. Alternatively, you can settle up using Apple Pay*, Venmo, or a Sticker Church gift card.

* This option is available only if you’re using Safari on Mac, iPhone, or iPad.

Stripe logo, PayPal logo, and Venmo logo

✞ Stripe is our preferred payment processor, mainly because they’re less evil than PayPal. For a start, they weren’t co-founded by prominent Trump supporter (ugh) Peter Thiel. With Stripe, you can check-out with all major credit cards, or with Apple Pay if you’re using Safari on Mac, iPhone or iPad. If at all possible, please do us (and the world) a solid, and use Stripe.

✞ Access to credit is a social justice issue. That’s why, despite our feelings about PayPal, you’ll see this as an alternative option at check-out. Select this option if you want to pay with your PayPal account or Venmo.

your prices are listed in gbp. can i pay in other currencies?

✞ Alas, no. We only take payment in GBP. This means you might be charged a small currency conversion fee by your bank, credit card company, or Paypal for processing the transaction.

art + design

Where do you source your images?

✞  We go through the queer archive with a fine-toothed comb to uncover the coolest, weirdest designs. This includes poring over medieval manuscripts, delving into historical library holdings, museum catalogues, and more.

✞ The majority of the images we use as the basis for our designs are either in the public domain, copyright free, or have been released under a CC.0 license.

✞ For other source images, we license them for our specific usage from the relevant rights’ holders, and commit to obeying the relevant terms. This is why you’ll see credit and license/copyright info for some designs on the website.

Who does your artwork?

✞ Our High Priestess handles image sourcing and establishes the vision for all our designs.

Al Jato, a living saint, is our in-house artist, and a freelance graphic designer. She brings the Sticker Church vision to life, adding her unique flair to every single pixel.

✞ For more of Al’s fierce, stunning (and fiercely stunning) designs, check out her website, and follow her on Insta.

Ségolène Gence was crucial in producing the first iteration of our “Trans + Genderqueer Saints” collection, the sticker set that launched our entire endeavour here at Sticker Church. Her design skills and immense kindness have literally got us to where we are today, and we could not be more grateful. Ségolène works as a freelance artist and photographer, lending her talents to diverse projects and clients.

✞ We also work with selected artists to produce “Collaboration Collections”, fusing their artistic genius with the Sticker Church mood. These collabs are super easy to recognize, as “The Artist x Sticker Church”.

✞ Intrigued about designing for Sticker Church? Awesome! Find out more in the “Working With Us” section below.

Can I suggest a theme for a future collection?

✞ Sure! Write to us or ping us on social to share your sticker fantasies and we will def bear it in mind as we develop new designs.

can i design for you?

✞ We are always on the look out for creators whose art vibes with the Sticker Church aesthethic and MO. If this sounds like you, drop us a message to introduce yourself and your art!

✞ In particular, we are committed to supporting creatives with intersectionally marginalized identities, getting their glorious work in front of broader audiences through the sticker-verse.

✞ For the avoidance of doubt, we pay all our artists, either a flat fee or on commission. Typically, artists who produce designs for release as a named Special Collection collaboration (think: “The Artist x Sticker Church”) work on a commission basis.

✞ We will never, ever ask you to work for free, nor sign over copyright to your designs. To quote the mighty Miss Eaves, “exposure kills”.

can i license sticker church designs?

✞ We’re def open to licensing our designs, subject to the existing licensing agreements we’ve got in place, if applicable. Get in touch with us over email to begin the conversation. It’d be awesome if you could let us know what designs specifically you’re interested in, and what products you’d produce under license.

Can you do something special for my event/conference/book launch?

✞ Sure thing! Sticker Church began as a promo sticker and postcard set to celebrate the publication of an academic book. This kind of thing is in our DNA.

Send us a note, with basic info about your event and what you’re envisioning, and we can collaborate to make something beautiful, baby.

can i sell sticker church stuff in my shop?

✞ Short answer: yep! For the marginally longer answer and more info, see the Stockists section below.

where can i get sticker church irl?

✞ Want to touch the merch before you buy? We get it, we’re tactile people too. And as much as we adore the internet (it legit gives us life), we’re still pretty damn partial to IRL. That’s why you’ll find Sticker Church in selected physical locations.

can i sell sticker church stuff in my shop?

✞ Yes! Get in touch with us to talk all things wholesale. It’d be super helpful if you could let us know what designs you’d be interested in stocking, and what kind of volume you’re thinking about. We’re enthusiastic about working with you and tailoring our offering to your business’ needs.
